New job!

Welcome to my blog! Words I thought Id never say! I also thought I would never have a facebook page with actual fans or have anything ever come of my sewing hobby! I have come a long way but still have a long way to go. So I have started a blog for a few reasons but mainly for my customers/fans who have become my friends and biggest inspiration and motivation.

Maybe you want to get to know me sooo lets kick this off with an introduction. My name is Corinna, I am 28 and a mother of two. I wish I was a genius writer so I could have one of those cute paragraph introductions about being a "wonder woman ,cleaner of all the yuck,  boo boo kisser and lover of this and that" but that would be complete plagiarism because I sew...I dont write. So although my writing wont be genius (sorry), it will be creative and real. Kinda  like a creative journal with bits and pieces of my life and passion for fabric and creating all mixed together. So I hope you all enjoy!

Now about this new job....I have been on etsy for nearly two years but sewing, designing and making things most of my life. When I was 7 and  my friends were obsessed with new kids on the block and makeup, I was making clothes for my Barbies. Being artsy doesn't always fit in but I never cared. I cant believe I have found my place in the world where not only does being creative fit in, but people actually think I am kinda cool for what I do! This is why I have made the decision to pursue sewing/designing/creating full time! Like most crafters on etsy, I have had a 10hr a day, 5 days a week day job. The 500+ dresses I have made are made when my kids go to bed. When I began on etsy, it was kinda a "lets see what happens" thing. I really had no expectations...dreams and visions yes, but no real expectations. Would people like my designs, fabric choices? My niche from the start has been my stripwork and patchwork designs. No one on etsy really did anything like that so it was nice to be different. And believe me, there are some crazy talented ladies out there in the realm of children's clothing. I have seen some rise and some fall but i respect them all. I think it can be really hard at times to be a one woman show but the majority of etsy customers "get that". Do I have an ultimate goal? Just to keep doing what I am insanely passionate about for as long as I am able! To celebrate my "new job" which is effective in the start of june, I am going to have a big sale this week and my first giveaway on my new blog. So please, if you'd like, follow me! Details on the sale and giveaway will follow shortly. Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported me thru this journey!

  4. I am so happy that you have taken this up full time! Making it personal and giving us the personal connection through your blog is pretty awesome! I love knowing that you and I are so close in age- that we both have kids who are growing up and that you love art!
I hope that your designs continue to be unique, not over marketed, made in the US and hand made items- rather than China. I love supporting women, who are in the US in their businesses. Good Luck
